What's New with Encore! Theatre Arts

Busy Busy Busy!

by Encore! Theatre Arts on 01/22/12

There is so much going on at Encore! Theatre Arts! Last Wednesday we had our first cast meeting and read-through for The Lost Pages of Cinderella and the Phantom Fairy, and today we had our first regular rehearsal. This is going to be a hilarious and magical production, and with a cast of nearly 40, this show is sure to sell out. Be sure to buy your tickets early!

In fact, take advantage of our pre-sale, specially for our Encore! fans: avoid the PAC $5 per-ticket fee by purchasing tickets from our website at www.EncoreTulsa.com/tickets.html. Since you'll be able to purchase tickets before they go on sale via the PAC Box Office, you'll be sure to reserve some great seats to see the show!

We also have our "Two for $22" offer. See both Cinderella and Sherlock Holmes for only $22. Details are also on our ticket page, at www.EncoreTulsa.com/tickets.html. Hurry, this offer ends soon!

We are still preparing our spring schedule of acting classes, but enrollment is now open for our SPRING BREAK CAMP for kids ages 4-15, and our FOUNDATIONS+ Workshop for ages 8-18. Both of these educational opportunites are new to Encore, and space is sure to fill up quickly. In fact, only 15 spaces remain in our Spring Break Camp, so head on over to our Education page to enroll today!

Last, but certainly not least, we have announced auditions for Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily. Auditions are Monday, February 13 at 7:00pm and are open to actors age 16+. Performances are April 12-15 at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Visit the Auditions page for details, script excerpt, character breakdowns, etc.

There's so much going on, and we want you to be a part of it! See the shows, come audition, or attend a class! Thank you for your continued support, and we'll see you soon!

A Christmas Story was a HUGE SUCCESS!

by Encore! Theatre Arts on 12/13/11

We were blown away by the attendance at A Christmas Story! Two performances were sold out, and the other three were pleasantly full. Thank you to everyone who attended; you were all amazing audiences and it was so energizing to hear you laugh and enjoy the entire show. It sounded like you had as much fun as we did!

And thank you to the cast and crew for a fantastic show! Thank you Matthew Morrison, Reed Probst, Victoria Hannath, and John Barker for helping with load-in and load-out. Thank you Jill Probst, Marcy Morrison, and Kaitlin Robertson for working box office. Thank you to our light technician David Robertson, sound technician Matthew Morrison, and stage crew- Bailey Grufik, Matthew Morrison, John Barker, and Reed Probst. Thank you to all our ushers, donors, and parents for your support!

We think we've found a new Christmas tradition.... Hmmm... What do you think?

A Christmas Story opens in two weeks!

by Encore! Theatre Arts on 11/23/11

I can't believe we open A Christmas Story in just two weeks! Rehearsals have been so fun and everyone is fitting into their roles quite nicely. 11-year-old Will Gibson, who is playing young Ralphie Parker, went from a brunette to a bleach blonde overnight and now is a picture-perfect blonde, blue-eyed Ralphie Parker :-) Check out the new poster design, that's Will!

If you love the classic movie, you will love love LOVE the stage play! All of the wonderful and comical moments in the movie are included in the play, plus a few additions that only make it even more enjoyable: Esther Jane, a cute school girl who has a crush on Ralphie; Helen, a smart and sassy school girl; an added "fantasy scene" in which Ralphie saves his school friends from iminite danger with his BB gun; and... well, I don't want to give too much away! Just come see for yourself! We triple dog dare you!

You better hurry and get your tickets, because this looks like it is going to be quite a popular show. Purchase your tickets before December 1st and your seats will be reserved for you for free! Visit our tickets page to purchase tickets online- it's so easy and there are no added fees!

Halloween Rehearsal

by Encore! Theatre Arts on 11/01/11

We had a fun rehearsal for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at Encore! Studio tonight! We ended rehearsal with a Halloween party, complete with delicious snacks: the usual chips, cookies, pop, and veggie tray, plus yummy bean dip (Nancy adds Miracle Whip to make it extra delicious!), pumpkin pie, and a creepy candy tray with gummy noses, fingers, and eyes! This is such a fun cast of talented people- their friendship is apparent both onstage and off.

After rehearsal, while Mindy made more additions to the new website, Josh got the studio ready for A Christmas Story auditions and even started putting up Christmas decorations to set the mood. Never done that before- Halloween party and Christmas decorating in the same evening!

We triple-dog-dare you to come to auditions for A Christmas Story tonight! There are plenty of fun roles for all ages, and this production is going to be simply delightful. See you there :-)
